Lively stereo modulation comes courtesy of Driver while Rounds Delay and Rounds Reverb add an epic touch to the sound. Duality uses a parallel synth setup featuring the SKF filter for a unique sound character that glides between moody and thoughtful. Digilog Blocks are used to create everything from intricate analog rhythms to powerful melodies and basslines. LFO-triggered melodies interact with spacious delay and reverb, creating melodies and soundscapes.

Kyaraben is speaker-blowingly simple synthesizer that enters FM territory using two Bento Box oscillators. Great for punchy basses and leads, and snappy percussion. Organ Blaster is a modular twist on the classic organ and synthesizer sound of the 70s.

Multiple waveforms from different octaves and harmonic intervals are blended for a warm and harmonic tone while the Modern Paul filter adds saturated vibes. Quadropolis features four Bento Box 8 Steps sequencers driving four oscillators through a single filter. The result is 30 presets of lively, sequenced sounds, from chiptune to complex arpeggios, each of which could be the backbone of a new track. Squares piles on three Multiwave OSC Blocks, using pulse-width modulation to provide a distinctive and recognizable timbre.

XY is an expressive sequenced synth capable of generative melodies and sonic textures. Discover nearly infinite modulation possibilities via the innovative XY sequencer. It also lets you create deep drone textures and interesting counter melodies.

Fun for making sequenced bass, melodic, and percussive lines, and FX. Sequencer lane-independent ranges allow ever-evolving sequences. Morph Twin uses Morph Filter to make sequenced vowel sounds, basses, and leads. A beat-making beast, Curve Trax can also create melodic sequences.

A Curve Sequencer — with randomization options — and XYS Sequencer create rhythmic gates, modulation, and pitch source. Flip Gen adds noise for percussion, claps, or hats. Blip showcases a fun use of the Morph Filter module. Blip is ideal for percussive sounds, melodic or chord sequences, soundscapes, and FX.

Some of these payment methods might not be supported in your country. Learn more. Authentic patch-on-panel functionality makes it super easy to get into modular synthesis and start creating insane synths and sounds.

If you already know your way around modular synths, Blocks will be a breath of fresh air and innovation. CV connectivity is also offered, giving you the possibility for hardware integration. Drop Blocks smoothly into one of 35 pre-programmed preset racks, patch-in and explore the principles of signal flow. Five tutorial Racks can guide you through the basics of important synthesis methods such as additive, subtractive, frequency modulation, and amplitude modulation.

The included Kodiak family, for example, features two sequencers, an oscillator, a morphing filter, and an experimental noise generator. The four West Coast elements are inspired by synth pioneer Don Buchla and his playful approach to synthesis.

The patches range from generative sound machines and classic subtractive synths to experimental devices only possible on a modular system. Each is a powerful synth on its own — with its own set of presets — giving you the flexibility and unrivaled power of Blocks in an instantly playable package.

This mini-series for Native Instruments Reaktor users, Rishabh Rajan shows how to build a synthesizer from scratch. In this tutorial we focus on oscillators. Tutorial Apr 19, by Rishabh Rajan. In Part 1 of this mini-series for Reaktor users, Rishabh Rajan shows how to build a synthesizer from scratch inside Native Instruments' popular graphical modular music software creation platform.

Amazing Machines are well known to us now, and to many Reaktor Blocks users. If you're looking for a unique NI Reaktor sound library, by an award-winning sound designer, which is free and includes 52 snapshots, 30 samples, then go and download Metaphysical Fabrications now! Fancy creating some mind-bending atmospheres in NI Reaktor? Take a listen. In his latest course exploring the best Reaktor ensembles available, Rishabh Rajan showcases Massive, a 6-channel, sample-based sequencer.

Watch the short video here. NI's Reaktor is a playground for making simple synths and effects, but also caters for the incredibly creative sound designer looking for new ideas. That's where Tim Exile's Flesh joins the party! Blocks in NI's Reaktor 6 features a tons of creative solutions and uses for synth-heads.

But, did you know Blocks can also be used to process audio? It's mind blowing! Toby Pitman gets processing. Tutorial Dec 15, by Matt Vanacoro. Matt Vanacoro presents a quick and easy guide to getting started with Blocks. Amazing Machines are amongst the first to support the new Reaktor Blocks format. Their AM is a programmable wavetable oscillator which Toby Pitman explains is pretty easy to like a lot. That gives you oscillators, filters, effects, and utilities you can use in Reaktor Player.

You just provide an email address, and then are granted both a download and a code to enter from Native Access. You need Native Access to install; that process is well explained in the documentation. Got it? Using this thing you spent no money on, you can watch a 2-minute tutorial with Nicky that is also free and learn how to make your first synth.

There are a ton of extras, and it all feels, for lack of a better word, totally Reaktor-ish. Why yes, thank you, I would like to make IDM for the rest of the night. Glad you asked. In a dark and complex world, what better than to disappear into headphones and listen to the sound of gently morphing oscillators, I ask you….

The block is a real Swiss Army knife: it can be used to draw or record modulation, used as a drawable audio-rate oscillator, used as part of a generative music patch, used for recording and storing notes of a sequence, generating clocks and much more. Similar to the above — give them your email address, get a download. Modular-Analog Software Stories Tech. Peter Kirn - August 24, Add comment.
